♥ Hey there~

hello!

With a blink of an eye..its Friday! What i did on Monday is still clear in my mind..so another week has pass. As the time goes by, things arent getting any easier or lighther. More and more assignments coming in, tests plus presentation! Oh Hell..welcome back to the hetic life..~ I do hope i can cope with everything that i m doing. I m totally loaded. I have a few test coming up next week and then the following week. Next week i would be having maths test and chemistry practical test. Will be doin titration again..hm..hm..
I just felt like a big heavy rock has fallen onto my hands...suddenly i was thrown wif lots of work!
Presentation is something that u may not be able to escape in life~ something which i dont really like because its nerve racking..but what to do i still hav to face the whole thing. This time for english we are ask to present an object. it can be anything. We can talk about the subjects that we are learning..for eg: how to conduct a titration experiment..or talk about anything regarding biology, like cells..n etc..geez..it would b easy to present but some may not find it interesting specially those non-science students..Hmmm...i still havent decide what to present..what i hav in mind:
1. Anything general regarding health
2. Organic detergent..hm how shud i say, i read one article frm reader's digest..about using organic things as detergent..for eg lemon..n etc..
3. Natural ingredients that has healing property for eg.: Ginger, lemon, Mustard...Hmmmmm
Still thinking about it

AhhHhh..

Anyway, Last Saturday..the weather in Adelaide was incredibly hot! 44degrees! Yet i still went out for the whole day..frm morning to night. heheheheh. Me and my new group of friends celebrated CNY on that day. Went to K-box ( somewhat like a karaoke lounge..a small room which can fit more than 10 ppl ) in the afternoon. Most of my friends sang cantonese and chinese songs . I m such a noob when it comes to this. Some of the songs are familiar but i just duno how to sing. I m illeterate in chinese btw. >.<> Red Square

Last of all ....ICE CREAM heaven!!!~~~

After 3hours of kareoke..we headed down to Rundell St. to have our dinner at "chopstick" restaurant. 13 of us sat in one long table, ordered 7 kinds of dishes served with rice.
It was good...but outside was burning hot. I felt like i am being cooked in an oven.
After dinner we decided to hav some deserts..ahahaha..we pass by this desert cafe but it was packed..so we went to buy ice cream instead.
ahahah..yes ice cream again..this time its abit diff. I forgot what this ice cream is called..but its special..First..select the size that u wan, regular,small...then select a flavour and they hav a variety of it...
Next u select..wat types of chocolate, nuts or cookies that u wan to mix wif the ice cream. They hav all sorts of mix nuts, M & M chocolates, Oreo cookies, umm wat else..a variety of chocolates like turkish delight n etc...
Once u hav select..they will sort of smash the ice cream..plus the cookies, nuts or chocolates..sort of mix it together!..n wala..ur ice cream is ready!...mmmm...delicious...n fattening.

After the ice cream we walk all the way down to North Terrace, we headed to a park which is just infront Adelaide Uni..and next to a Museum..
We sat on a big plank of wood..nicely make for people to sit..and enjoy our ice cream. Had a good chat too...about language and stuff. Luckily it wasnt that hot..the weather cools down abit at night. Not long after that..we move over to the grassy area. Since one of my friend said it was cooler to sit on the grass..hahaaha..then we made a big circle and started playing games..
ahh..very funny..played some of the games b4 durin when i was in IS. But its in chinese again..and among all i m the slowest..plus the most blurry one. +P

I really had lots of fun, at the same time get to know more about each and every one of my new friends better.

alrite i better get back to my work..will blog again soon!
Happy Chinese New Year!!

♥ What a day!

Sorry for the long absence...have been really really busy lately..of course with assignments. Everyday without fail there would be assignments given. LOL...yeah this is life.
I cant believe tmr is friday and 2nd week is coming to an end..which means 28 more weeks to midterm..Yikes!!

The teaching here is quite different i would say. Much different frm back home..specially biology and chemistry class. For biology the tutor thoroughly tought us how to use the microscope..Uhuh..chapter 1. How to handle and use the microscope properly. =P almost the same as the one in IS..but i never knew the first step was to lower the condenser lense approx 1/3 below the stage..oh n adjust the tube wif low power..then high power..all i remember what i did in IS is..straight away switch to high power n locate the cell or whatever. hahahahaha..=P
Another amazing thing is the microscope can be connected to the tv..so the TV sort of act like an eye piece..u could clearly see the specimen..n the good thing is you dont hav to strain ur eyes. LOL..The teacher took a few specimen..i mean bought a few specimen the other day for us to see the cells and Unicellular cells. she bought a bunch of pond weed cost $10, two small tiny bottle of umm greenish fluid..another one is dirt i think..mix wif water..cost bout $8!haahahah..there is actually living things in there..that we cant see with our naked eye! LOL. i m sure u kno wat it is...starts wif the letter B _ _ _ _ _ _ _ !!

We got to see cute tiny winy little miny euglena which looked like worms frm far...oh and paramecium too!! Everyone in class was like "awww..they r so cute...euuuu..n awww here n there" =.=
Some of the euglena were sort of changing shapes..like elongate or turn to round shapes n elongate again..and some were spinning around..like hip hop dancers..for no reason..well there might be a reason for it but i dunno. LOL..
We saw a few paramecium mating too..muahahah..sexual reproduction. Umm wat else, 3 paramecium dying..this 3 particular paramecium werent moving at all and dont look healthy..manage to witnessed their last breath..haha..the cell membrane somewhat burst so the cytoplasm was oozing out..and so the paramecium went to heaven..rest in peace. hehe.
It was interesting. There are only 3 foundation students in my bio class..me n two hongkong boys..the rest are aussie students..ahh..so lonely.

As for chemistry, we learnt experimental skills..and did titration the other day. LoL again.
Oh when conducting practicals we need to wear lab coats! cool..cool..practicals are done in pairs..so yeah each one does a diff procedure. haha.
My tutor was asking me and other international students about anything diff with the apparatus or how the experiment was conducted back home. Almost similar i would say accept for the apparatus..like they actually hav a special instrument that is use to insert solutions into the pipet..more accurate n efficient..i forgot wat it is called..it looks like a syringe. Another difference is the distilled water bottle..the tip of the bottle is so short..i still prefer the one in IS. Um what else..oh when we fill solutions into the burret..u hav to put a small funnel on top so its easier to fill the solution in. =)

Yeah the rest of the subject is quite ok..hmmm..everyone in my english class doesnt like the english tutor,..for some reason. She is quite strict..sometimes she looked stuck up. =P Just like d other day, almost the whole class didnt complete their homework..actually they didnt write down the answers on to a piece of paper..instead they scribble on the paper. I did my job. LOL..so yeah the tutor was quite mad..and scolded some students saying "this is rubbish"..so some of them got really offended. I m immune to this situation ady..lol..after one year experience with miss Beatrice. My english teacher is much much better than miss Beatrice tho.

Today is my worst day of all....speaking of which its only the 2nd week of school. I was late for class..for the very first time in my life..i have to run to school. LOL
My maths class starts at 8.35am , my alarm clock (hp) rang at 7.00am..and i went back to sleep thinking the alarm will ring again..(snooze)...when i woke up i looked at the clock an its already 8.25am!!! I blink my eyes a few times and said ..." ohhhh S***T I M LATE FOR CLASSS!!! arGGGGGGhhhhHHHHHhhh....!
I jumped out of my bed..washed my face..dress up and ran for my life. I had no other choice..it takes me 15mins to reach school..by walking..so i roughly thought i would reach school by 8.50am..>.< ....frm that moment i hav this thought of asking someone to giv me a ride. LOL..hahaha...i Ran instead..Run as fast as i could...when i finally got to school it was already 8.40am..hey..5 mins late...not too bad. ahahah..mean by running it takes me 10mins to reach school..LOL..Pheww*.....this is my worstnightmare ever. As soon as i knock on the door..everyone 's eyes were like eyeing at me..n the tutor was teaching someone at that time..so i went over an appologize..i wasnt able to think straight but to go to my sit n sit down.."i woke up late" was my reason for being late. =( Luckily the tutor hasnt started teaching anything yet!!............ah..............so embarrasing.......................hopefully it doesnt happen again in the future.

There is always a time where u will meet people who doesnt look right..as in..the brain. =P There was this old man i think in his 60s...i was buying something frm the supermarket..and suddenly he sort of talk to me..i think to himself he looked so ragged...i quickly walk off..and went to the counter right away to pay my stuff..n suddenly he was behind me again..talking..mumbling ..ahhhh..so near me. I quickly walk off!!!!!! On my way home..there is another man standing by the walkway...hmm looks suspecious..one asian guy was in front of me..when he passed by the man..the man asked him whether he could giv him $2...so he asked the same thing when i passed by...n i shake my head.."no"....n increase my walking speed. LOL..T_T weirdos...freaky weirdos...........eeekkkksss.

Cant believe Kylie and Chien Yen is in Adelaide ady..LOL...hahah time flies...and Chien Yen is just staying nearby my place!! Nice.
Tats if for now..bed time.

♥ orientation...orientation!~

Hi there!

Today is my 3rd day of orientation. Everything is fine and went pretty well. Orientation here are not like the ones we used to have in IS seniors bullying u and stuff..its more like introducing u the school system and tutors. i shall talk about my first day of orientation first. ;)

ok day one:
Arrived the college around 8.45am, my college is a building which is about 6floors so all the foundation students are suppose to meet up at the 2nd floor. When i arrived, there were quite a number of students there, registered myself and phew..i m so glad to say tat on the name list there is a column tat stats "prefered name"..so i wrote there "felicia" ...makes the ang mo's life easier, cuz its hard for them to pronounce chinese name. I received a bag pack too which contains a student diary, bottle, few forms bout the choice of sub, booklist, sub topic, some school rules, guide line on how to access to eynesbury portal and etc...
I met Emily ( hometown fren ) and we both stood there and wait for futher instructions. At the same time i met quite a few new friends, one frm penang, another frm China, Hong Kong, Dubai and a few frm Sarawak. Most of the students are frm HongKong.

Basically on the first day we were being introduced to some of the tutors, councelors, and shown round the building like where the library is,lab..washrooms..and etc. We hav our photo taken too for our student ID card. The system here is quite diff frm back home. We have our own email set by the college where our assignments will be sent or other important notice. The bad thing is we cant access to yahoo or hotmail or any other sites which is irrelevant and not educational =P
We can also check if the ref books in the library is available or not thru the comp..plus we are also allow to use the Universities library for study which is good. =D
We are given certain amount of credit to use the internet and to do printing in the library, like $10 is for internet usage and $5 is for printing..one piece cost about 10cents ( no colour ) ..so all in all we can print 50pages for 5bucks! If ur credit is finished u can recharge it. @_@
The system here is so high-tech unlike back home we still practice the old fashion way.
Some University representatives came too to give a brief introduction bout the university. Surprisingly only less than 10students plan to enter UniSA..majority plan to enter Adelaide Uni and Flinders Uni..we were like the smallest number of all. LOL.

2nd day:

Did nothing much, had a short tour to another building which is behind the main building. This building is mainly for foundation students, it has a computer room too and we can also use the kitchen which is in the tutor's room. Then we were given a brief talk on the sub we choose which is related to our course.

3rd day:

Visited UniSA the city east campus where all the health science courses is conducted. The pharmacy building is just next to the building where the Nursing and Physiotheraphy course is..and right in the middle there is barbeque pitt! haha..tats hw students doin these courses get along well. The biology lab, chemistry lab and lecture theatre is situated at the new building which is about 2 years old. The labs are quite big including the lecture theatre. There is a few old buildings around the Uni too! one of the building which is 150years old is used as the library!!
After visiting the Uni, we had lunch and walk back to the college.
I received my time table today which is done by the course coordinator. She is smart enough to kno tat some of us hav built some friendship for the pass two days so not all of our time tables are the same. I m lucky enough cause i dont hav classes till 5.10pm only thing is i hav to be in school by 8.35 frm Mon-thurs.

Nothing much goin on tmr, we just hav to go to school and buy our graphic calculator! Surprisingly they use it in maths..and it makes life more easier. U can easily get sin, cos, tan graphs by using the graphic calculator.! Amazing.

All the tutors are very friendly and they make u feel home altho i kept on hearing them say... "I guarantee in few weeks time ..u will have all sort of mix feelings, u will be asking urself why are u here?...did make the right choice..and things like tat" T_T hopefully that feeling doesnt govern me!

Tats it for now. Class will commence next monday~ its gonna be a busy life. ciou!
